An important part of your company business plan should include an element of “GIVING BACK”. By giving back to the community, charity, school or any non-profit, your business will have an additional sense of fulfillment and purpose. Connect your business to something positive instead of just making a profit.
Giving can also be critical element of your company’s brand and reputation. Many of the largest and most successful companies have big commitments to giving, not just because it’s the right thing to do. It is a good business practice. Then once you start to give something back—especially once you start seeing the benefits of giving, it becomes even more rewarding. So know success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. And giving back will bring you joy and success.
I belong to the local buidler?s association. It is an opportunity source for a decorator to meet buidlers. You also receive discounts for promotional opportunities such as new home parades and home and garden shows that the association offers. Fees may cost a few hundred dollars a year. If you join, you can not just sit back and wait for the money to roll in. You need be involved. This includes meetings, membership functions and outings. Another great resource is to join a business network group. I belong to one called BNI, Business Network International. It is a formal but fun chapter that refers business to each other. Only on category for each profession is allowed to join to keep additional competition away.
